a change of template :) this feels more like me. and some brown to represent the season of autumn (fall). hehe
feels like so much going on in my life these days..so many decisions to make, lessons to learn, things to deal with. i just want to throw them all into my 'secret' closet and shut them away forever in hopes that no one would ever find them (kind of like monica's secret closet of junk that she kept from chandler in 'friends'). i liked that idea, and many times i had put things off for a later date thinking they would just somehow vanish into the thin air...but i know better now.
the other day, i planted 12 trees in lambert park in ryde as part of this 'earth week' event. never done that before...the only things i'd planted previously were daisies, pansies and tulips. rory and i have decided to go back to the park when we are 40 to see how they grow. i really hope one of my tree will become some kid's favourite climbing tree one day....or better yet, adopt a tree house! or i dont mind if it is simply someone's 'reading' tree..
i read a book when i as little about a girl who has kissed all different kinds of trees and how each tree has a special taste. she would pop some blackberries into her mouth and kiss a tree to leave a small dark stain..calling it a 'blackberry kiss'! hhehe
anyways, ever since that tree planting, whenever i walk to uni, or exercise in centennial park, i'd pay extra attention to the trees i meet. i really do feel inspired by some of the trees because they have purpose. they grow, bear fruit sometimes and multiply. you dont see trees trying to sell candies, because a tree does what it is supposed to do and it knows its purpose. they have their roots dugged firmly under the soil and they don't stumble or get intimidated by other forces. i want to be more like a tree..to grow with passion and fulfil what i was designed to do by God.
on another note, i think kids can be pretty evil...at sunday school last week, we were teaching the kids about 'trade-offs'..and we gave them a list of things they would trade off in order to get something else they want. to my surprise, this ten years old girl actually marked a big NO next to "to save a friend's life, would you give away your favourite CD/game collection?" and children are our future!?
ohh gotta get ready to go to uni now...will write more later...sigh..im not a fan of night classes...
